Soon after Adriana Bertola and I entered the park, we saw a mother guinea pig and her baby. Adriana said they had been waiting for me so I could take their photos.
Boy, that baby could jump!

There were 3 trails on the Argentina side: lower, upper, and Devil’s Throat.
Here is just a tiny taste of the lower trail.

We did not go to Emerald Lake. We were told it was a 2-hour hike in, and we did not have a day to dedicate to it.
However, on our flight to Iguazu Falls, I think I caught it on my camera.

What an extraordinary privilege to be allowed to walk with the Penguins two days in a row! This time Adriana and I went together with Perito.

Just in time for Mother’s Day.
Iris is the goddess who connects Heaven and Earth with a rainbow bridge.
Thank you, Tristan!

The third island we visited had Magellan cormorants, more sea lions, and an old lighthouse. I found it interesting how the different species kept themselves separated.
We also saw a humpback whale breach several times!

Sadly for both of us, it was time for Jason to return home because he did not have much time off work.
I asked, “What was your favorite part of the trip?”
To my surprise, he said, “Drinking the fresh, pure glacial water at Perito Moreno. That was the best water I’ve ever had in my life.”
And the biggest bonus of all: Jason wants to return, which gives him a positive goal to work toward. After all the horrible things he has been through, especially losing his older brother Tristan in 2015 to a heroin overdose, this makes me very happy.

And dogs. Big dogs. Everywhere.
Apparently, they “belong” to the community. They hardly ever bark. I am guessing the locals provide food and water.
They lounge in the sun, greet visitors, and hang out… even in front of the meat counter inside grocery stores.
Different culture!
